Genetic similarities and phylogenetic analysis of Muntjac (Muntiacus spp.) by comparing the nucleotide sequence of 16S rRNA and cytochrome B genome

Abstract This study aimed to identify the phylogenetic similarities among muntjac (Muntiacus spp.). The seven major species were studied by comparing nucleotide sequence of 16s rRNA and cytochrome b genome. Nucleotide sequences, retrieved from NCBI databases aligned using DNASTAR software. A tree was created for selected maximum likelihood method on MEGA7 results sequences (16s rRNA) showed between, M. truongsonensis rooseveltorum had highest (99.2%) while lowest (96.8%) found between crinifrons putaoensi. While (Cty b) similarity (100%) muntjak s (91.5%) putaoensis crinifrons. gene) shows main two clusters, one including putaoensis, truongsonensis, rooseveltorum, muntjak, second vuquangensis. reevesi exists separately in tree. genes that are clustered same group.
